This is an index of the recording that I made of my VC1R effort in the 2003 CQ WW WPX SSB Contest. The times listed below are the times that each file ends, and each file is one hour or less of audio. The files are ".wav" format files, encoded in Mpeg 3 (MP3) stereo. Each file is around 10 Mb in size (somewhat less for the smaller ones). You will need a suitable decoder built in to your browser's audio player to listen.
I was operating single op, with two radios. What you are hearing is what I was hearing in my headphones. The monitor on one radio was turned up nice and loud (so you can hear me very clearly), the monitor on the other radio wasn't, so you can't hear me very clearly.
Because I was SO2R, and you are hearing what I was hearing, things are a bit confusing when you listen to some of these files. I run in 'headphones latch' mode. That means that when my 'run' radio is CQ'ing (using the computer voice keyer), you are hearing (on both channels) the output of my 'S&P' radio. When the voice keyer stops transmitting, you suddenly switch to hearing my run radio in both ears. You will (almost) never hear my CQ - because when the run radio is transmitting the CQ message you are listening to the other radio.
If you have questions, or comments about my operating, I'd love to hear them. If you have a recording of our QSO from your end, I'd love to hear it. Email me at djl@andlev.com .
